What is your flavor?
I have heard the church, as a whole. described as a Baskin Robbins, with 31+ flavors to go around. And you can totally see that in that there are so many churches to choose from, but what happens when churches start severing other flavors. You can see a transformation in the "church" today that is very interesting. It is as if they are trying to have something for everone. I think this is great, and believe we as the church need to meet the needs of people and provide an atomosphere of love and acceptance to help in that effort. But as much as I love going to Baskin Robbins because of all the flavors I get frustrated at all the flavors at the same time not knowing what to choose. I will go there knowing what I am craving and as quick as I entered the store I have become overwelmed with so many choices. And as much as I was hungry for ice cream my taste buds are now confused not knowing the flavor that brought me there to begin with. I know that a hunger for God is a wonderful and amazing thing and it is wonderful to know the church is there to help meet that need in fulfilling that hunger, but are we forgeting what drew us there or what is drawing others to begin with. I love the "church", and I am so excited to see churches meet needs on a massive scale but I wonder if all of the flavor we seem to offer might be confusing the spirit flavor that we need.
